Pre-Construction Manager

Metcalf Builders, Inc. is seeking a Pre-Construction Project Manager to join our construction family. Someone who is interested in joining a company with a true family culture approach and who will help expand on our core values of Safety, Integrity, Trust, and Excellence..

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with owners, architects, and design professionals from the conceptual phase, design development, construction documents, budget development and turnover to operations.
  • Create conceptual budgets at early stages of project based on unit metrics provided by client.
  • Perform constructability on plans at different stages of design.
  • Prepare detailed/accurate estimates that clearly communicate project costs and scope at different stages of design.
  • Prepare overall contract exhibits reflecting final budget to client for execution/award.
  • Perform value engineering studies for client consideration if budget issues arise.
  • Through company bidding software, prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade specific clarifications, and comprehensive bid packages.
  • Review and validate/level subcontractor bids and proposed schedules.
  • Engage subcontractor/client outreach to expand subcontractor partnerships.
  • Represent Metcalf Builders, Inc. at industry and community functions and actively participate in Business Development activities.
  • Continuously improving (through creativity and innovation) our practical and technical approach to pre-construction allowing Metcalf Builders, Inc. to be on the cutting edge of the industry.
  • Training of applicable pre-construction staff when opportunity arise.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Ability to navigate project plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (excel, word, etc.)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Construction field is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of related experience required.
  • Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
